The National Association of Realtors announced today that 2 billion dollars has been earmarked to help the struggling Realtor base in the country. The NAR spokesman said " we have an unprecented number of Realtors that are faced with not making any income and many will be left homeless, penniless and broke unless we get a bailout from Washington." The spokesmans also said, "We care about our members, they are just as important to us as the employees are to GM or Chrsyler."
Look for your check in the mail soon.

Now I have a reason to go to the Mailbox.
Dale, Send us a link to where you saw this and any other current updates. Couldn't find it on NAR's site.
We want to hear more, more, more!
As we all have time to listen to the BIG 3 Auto Execs testify to the senate, that's after the roar of their private jets stopped, about the number of people they employ along with the number of people employed by their suppliers, I wondered if NAR was standing in line in the lobby waiting for their, or should I say our, turn.
It is admirable that the automakers are out in front forecasting that they'll be out of cash in three months and that they can focus the attention of not only the senate but the world's media and all of the country.
One would think that our organization, NAR, would be drawing focus before senate nine months ago forecasting our, (Realtors, homeowners in foreclosure, builders), imminent out of cash situation. Just as the auto industry focused the country on them, NAR could be focusing the country on the total number of people in our industry that have lost most or all of their income plus the total number of people in foreclosure and numbers that already lost their homes.
Speaking before the senate, the CEO of General Motors stated the auto industry is a pillar of our society and economy. I'll buy that. But hold on a minute, isn't there a pillar just a bit more primary. Let's put it this way, when it comes to responsibilty in our society, which should come first and most concerning, buying and having a new car or buying and having a home?
NAR, please pick up the phone and arrange a senate audience on behalf of the real estate industry and homeowners. You'll gain the focus of the whole country and draw the attentioned deserved to the housing market, perhaps the largest pillar of our society and the root of the economy.
We and the vast number of foreclosed homeowners have been out of cash for months. We need NAR to get the country focused.
